There is Knightsbridge and another place in London that you must go to. These are the only two places that will do the medical for the visa. They don't want you going to your own GP, as they are afraid of the GP's being paid off to fill in the papers wrong. lol.... There is a paper you will fill out there. You will also have to go get visa pics taken. All of this will be explained in the packet 3 when you get that.

They will give you the information in the packet about what number to call for the interview, etc.

Once you have your case number, beginning LND, you can book your medical with Knightsbridge doctors http://www.visamedicals.info/us.asp . There is a one page medical questionnaire in Package 3 but I think they have spare copies at Knightsbridge doctors if you haven't received Packet 3 in the post before you go. I booked my medical for one week after I was expecting Packet 3 to arrive.

Does anyone know if I can do the medical in Northern Ireland or Dublin? Can a UK passport holder do a medical in Dublin? Going to London at short notice costs a lot of money!!!

Cheers Gwen ... and looking at the list of prices for vaccinations in London I think I'll visit my GP soon and get him to load me up.

Some people have arranged the medical the day before their interview to cut down on the travel. This means that the sending of the visa will be delayed a little until the results are sent to the Embassy.

How much are the vaccinations?

If you look up the embassy info there's a link there to go see how much they are. They are quite expensive. Get a letter from your GP listing any you've had so you don't have to get them again. Luckily my fiancee had already had them all.
