Its official, NVC received our I130 yesterday and we are in their system, case number assigned. I have a couple of questions about whats next. When an attorney is used for the I130, and a G28 submitted - I know when forwarded to NVC the lawyer automatically becomes the agent. The automated message today told me to wait 8-10 weeks for our attorney to be contacted (or something similar to that). I am hoping, and judging by others timelines here, that it will not take that long for them to make 'first contact' ...

Questions:

Is the step in processing where an agent is assigned (DS-3032) just skipped, since attorney is present - or will that paperwork still be generated asking my husband to indicate his agent? If it is not generated and still a part of the process, will our time at the NVC be any shorter (even if a few weeks?)

Does information for both the petitioner and beneficiary get sent to the attorney? From my understanding, I (petitioner) will get certain info (like the AOS bill, forms) and the agent (lawyer for my husband) will get the rest of the paperwork (DS-230 bill, forms).

Thank you, in advance for your input!!
