AOS interview this coming weds 19. what do i need to take with me?????

dear everybody

thanks for all your support through out this experience. for all the newbies i just want to say: patience you will get there!!

now, what i have for the interview is:

1. I129 package

2. passport + I94

3. all notifications from the ead and aos

4. copies of house lease, car insurance, bank account, joint tax return.

5. pictures of our wedding.

what else do i need? am i forgeting something? does my husband needs another letter from employer saying he is still employed? (last one we sent was in the affidavit and was from january).

June 6: I129F package sent!! finally!!

June 7: vermont service center got the i129F

June 16: Got NOA1 in mail!! file opened on june 13!!

June 24: Online approval!!! yay i cant believe it! :)

July 7: got a letter from the NVC dated july 5th saying they were sending the papers to the peruvian embassy within week! so fast!

July 20: i got packet 4! and i also got an interview date: sept 15! yay!!

Sept 15: interview, they said yes, but wait, u need 2 more papers

Oct 10: got my visa!

Nov 2: flying w/my parents into bangor, maine.

Nov 4: we got married

Jan 25: we finally sent our AOS + EAD package

Feb 22: Biometrics taken

Mar 30: Infopass to ask if everything was alright ... they say 30 to 45 days more :(

April 7: got my EAD approved by email ... waiting for the papers now!!

April 10: got my EAD on the mail!!!

April 12: received notification saying AOS interview is April 19 ... wow that was fast.

April 19: quick interview (10 mins maybe?). got approved for my green card right then and there! (updated) i got my green card just a few days after that!!!

Yes, a recent letter from his employer is a good idea. There's a good chance you'll get asked for it.

Don't forget the interview letter itself.

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

May 5 Interview - Centennial (Denver, Colorado) Passed

June 10 Oath Ceremony - Teikyo Loretto Heights, Denver, Colorado

July 7 Received Passport in 3 weeks

Shredded all immigration papers Have scanned images

Do you have wills, life insurance, or anything that lists you as each other's beneficiaries?

Any pictures of your life together AFTER your wedding? And how about any mail addressed to both of you, like cards, letters, bills?

Definitely take a letter from his employer -- we were asked for ours, as well as the I-94.

If either of you work, there will be health insurance documents and life insurance benefits, where the spouse is designated as beneficiary.

Your hubby will need to bring some I.D. too. Use the AOS interview letter as a checklist and you should be fine. :)

5/23/03: Justin arrives to visit me in IA from SK.
6/7/03: We got married!
8/23/03: Filed I-130 from SK
8/25/03: Phoned border guards & asked if J could escort me back to IA, yes.
8/26/03: Arrive in IA
8/27/03: Went to USCIS local office to ask if J could stay in the US and file papers, yes
2004: I-130 approved!
6/05: Filed AOS/EAD
7/2/05: Rec'd receipt for I-485
8/05: Rec'd RFE for Biometrics
9/9/05: Rec'd RFE for medical
12/2/06: EAD APPROVED!
12/5/06: EAD card rec'd
1/15/06: AOS interview date for 4/11/06 at 11:00 a.m.
4/11/06: APPROVED!!!!!! NO MORE USCIS FOR 10 YEARS!!! WOOHOO!!! 2016...seems more like a page # than a year. Haha.

Aside from the checklist they gave you, we took anything we could think of that "linked" us such as: letter from our church pastor where we attend. Letter from our bank along with our joint account statement. I took a letter from my work. Pictures of us and us with other family members at different holidays. The girl that interviewed us was young a very nice girl too. She told us she was pleased and impressed with all the things we took to her.
