AOS filing for stepson

Because of the large fees involved now with AOS we find we can only afford one application at this time. We are going to submit the AOS for my stepson because he turns 21 in February and we can't wait any longer.

However we have not yet submitted AOS for Mama. Are there any regulations that prevent me from submitting AOS for stepson if we have not yet filed for Mama?

Mother's has to be filed at same time or before K-2 holder.

If you were admitted as the K-2 child of such a fiancé(e), you may apply to adjust status based on your parent's adjustment application.

Looks like a personal loan from the bank is needed to pay the fees.

You have also cut it very close for your stepson. If the AOS is not adjudicated before he turns 21, prepare for a denial.

You might try filling out both application and make an infopass appointment.

They do expedite kids petitons that are ageing out!
