I am flying 'home' to Toronto next week to visit my hubby & son. I want to bring my son a Xbox360 with some games for his birthday. I was planning on checking my bag instead of trying to get the Xbox through a carry-on. Has anyone had any problems getting this type of stuff across the border/through airport security?

01/20/2009: Received another RFE for Affadavit of Support Info

02/02/2009: Responded to RFE with brand new AOS based on 2008 tax return (if that doesn't shut them up, dunno what will)

02/19/2009: EAD card received in mail (no updates on Online Case Status ever made)

02/23/2009: AP received (again, no online updates)

02/26/2009: Received interview appointment letter for 4/6/09

04/06/2009: AOS approved for unconditional GC

04/21/2009: GC received

Shouldn't be an issue. I bought our Wii in Canada and brought it to my house in the US without a hitch. I don't recall if I declared it or not, though, as I don't think we were planning on leaving it in the States at the time.

I wouldn't check it... it could get damaged. Take it as carry-on. I've taken a laptop, digital video camera and digital cameras before as carry-on without a problem. However, I already owned these items. You may want to declare the items as a gift when you go through through Canadian customs and immigration in Toronto because it doesn't matter if you take it as carry-on or luggage -- if you get pulled into secondary inspection, they'll search all of that.

I think you will be fine. Nick brought me electronic gifts, even wrapped in paper and it was no problem. They just scanned them. I agree with Misa though, take it on as a carry on! :)

Officially Engaged December 24th, 2007!!!

Moved to the U.S. to be with my baby on July 19th, 2008 on a K1 visa!!!!
