NEW YORK - Coach Phil Jackson said he deserved the reprimand he got from the NBA on Wednesday for making a sexual reference in a comment following the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss in San Antonio.

The Spurs made 13 3-pointers in their 107-92 victory on Tuesday night, and Jackson was asked if too much penetration was leading to open outside shooters.

“We call this a ’Brokeback Mountain’ game, because there’s so much penetration and kickouts,” Jackson said. “It was one of those games.”

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Formalities... Everyone knows that he doesn't really give a dahamn and his comment was nowhere close to being out of line. Thus no apology was actually necessary, but I'm sure some ####### group felt differently. Goodness!!! However, his original comment was very funny!

I think coaches are held at a higher standard in terms of what they say publicly. There are gay players in the NBA and I'd guess that most of them got a good chuckle out of the comment itself, but there have been several NBA players who've voiced their negative opinions about homosexuality publicly.
