PO attempted to deliver to a PO BOX?

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone can tell me why I received this message from the USPS website:

"We attempted to deliver your item at 12:15 pm on April 14, 2006 in MESQUITE, TX 75185 and a notice was left. It can be redelivered or picked up at the Post Office. If the item is unclaimed, it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."

I mailed the application on 4/11 via Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation - not registered, no insurance and certainly no signature confirmation. This is addressed to a PO Box, I've always thought PO just drop it in their box and that's it. Anybody else have the same experience? Thanks in advance!

I always send priority with a delivery confimation, and never had any problem. Maybe you used some kind of option where they need to sign for it. Check at your local PO.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

Nope. I did not. I paid $4.05 for a flat rate envelope, I used USPS.COM so DC is free. I have to pay a lil more for Signature Confirmation and I didn't check that option, besides I know that it will be delivered to a PO BOX, so no one will really sign for it. This is just so confusing.

I never got that message, but I recall seeing it here before.

I think you just need to wait for the next workday, and that message will clear. USCIS picks up from PO boxes.

We got exactly the same message the day before ours was delivered. It's just a standard delivery message. It means that they delivered it to the post office and left a notice in in the persons PO box to pick up because you requested delivery confirmation they have to do this to confirm it was picked up. Don't worry, ours was picked up at 5am the next morning and signed for :)

P.O. Box numbers are not always the PO Boxes that you see in the post office.. they are often a way to organize mail in a central distribution center and then are forwarded to location just like regular mail would...

Thanks for the info zyggy! I checked the status today cuz Aleidayn mentioned that they pick up around 5am, and guess what? Here's the message on the USPS website:

"Your item was delivered at 5:21 am on April 17, 2006 in MESQUITE, TX 75185. "

The wait begins. Have a great week everyone!
