...makes one question even more that little nugget "if you're innocent, you don't have a thing to worry about".

I haven't watched the clip and nor do I want to, the resulting outcry is enough for me but poor guy, seriously, poor guy.

You can safely watch the video in the first post of this thread all the way till the RCMP guys show up. You'll miss the murder but you'll see how he was behaving in the moments leading to it.

Sure. So let's step on his neck and taser him again. Nice.

It's come to the point where if you step out of line, you die. And people justify it.

I agree. Sometimes it seems as though there's no thought given to whether a punishment fits a crime, as long as one believes that committing the crime was avoidable.

Didn't look to me like the guy was in any mood for a group hug.

I guess they were just toying with him. When he wasl ying on the floor still, they probably thought he was playing possum. Oh it's all so funny.

Fact: The swine killed a man who didn't deserve to be killed. Jailtime, counseling and maybe an azzfukcing in the prison shower, yes. Death? No.

Yes, the police wanted to kill him, gimme a break!! Lot of people that sit behind desks, etc etc and have no clue on what sort of stress police officers go through, have little right to make comments! The guy could have been hyped up on drugs, he could have had a wpn! Police do not know that, they went on what they knew at that moment; he was throwing a chair and a computer! Doesn't sound like a sane individual. Who knows what else may have been passed onto the Police at scene. maybe in the report to them, it may have stated he had some sort of weapon, etc! When it comes to these scenarios, one is under a fair amount of adrenaline. Could they have handled things better/ I'm sure the police involved wish they had taken a different route, did things different. i know many Police officers, and none that i know brag about having to use too much force. They are more than happy to leave their revolvers/tasers holstered.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I am absolutely appalled, ashamed, and angered by this. I am so ashamed that the people that are suppose to protect my streets have done such a disgusting thing. These officers should be prosecuted. They give all other RCMP officers (who risk their lives to protect Canadians) a bad name. I am especially mad about how the RCMP lied about what really happened BEFORE the video surfaced. What an embarrassment.

not sure if it is in this video but I saw this story on the news the other day.... and in the video they showed, you could hear one cop asking another cop even before they got to the guy if he can taser the guy....

Maybe they weren't very experienced? I am sure they weren't expecting the guy to die but one does wonder why apparently excessive force is used rather a lot when the authorities are dealing with disturbed people.
