Fair but firm parents. Can't fault them at all, I had a great childhood.

My parents didn't really get the chance to be strict. Me and my sister were respectful kids(thanks to my parents) and we grew up with rules, but my parents were also fun and made us want to do good things by their example not just by telling what we weren't allowed to do. My dad was a little overprotective at times but what do you expect with two daughters.

My dad was ultra-conservative and very strict especially since 4 of his 5 children are girls. We were not allowed to go out on social activities if it's not with family. In high school (and half of my college years) I was not allowed to go on class functions (beach outings, dances, etc). My younger sister was a bit more fortunate as my father finally relented and allowed her to go out with her classmates ... as long as I went along as chaperone (bleah).

I was raised my and aunt and uncle. I was protected like a bar of gold in Fort Knox. Never really discovered the real world until I was 18. It definitely set me back emotionally for a while.
