Hi, Here is my case

10/06/2006 married (husband is US ceitizen, I am a H1-B holder)

11/30/2006 filed AP/1-485/130

2/8/2007-5/30/2007 biometric and finger prints for two times because the system is not able to process my finger prints

7/11/2007 interview. during the officer said he would have approve my case but I need police clearance because they still can't process my finger prints, he gave me 2 months till 9/11 to provide the police clearance

8/3/2007 finally got all the police clearance letter and mailed out

waiting....

My question,

I didn't apply for EDA because I have been on H1-B. but I have to change my job now. Do you know how long it takes to get EDA now? Should I take my chance to wait for Green card approval? My case is now in philadelphia local office. Does anyone know how long it takes to approve for a case like mine.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks a million!

I dont understand exactly what kind of police clearance you were stuck in, usually that is FBI clearance and I am not aware that you can get one on your own and mail it. If I were you, I would definitely get an infopass appt and go there in person to find out what's going on. And EAD takes around 3 months to be issued.

I have heard of it before where people had to go get their own fingerprints done by police when the FBI ones did not work for some reason.

Since you have sent what they want back to them, and it has been a while since you sent that back, make a infopass appointment and see what the status of your case is before you make the decision to apply for a EAD.

The EAD take approx 90 days to process but Im hoping that since your at the end of your AOS processing that an approval will come soon so it is a bit of a sticky situation. Do you or dont you....

Thanks for all the replies.

I actually made infopass apointments twice and went down the philadelphia office. I got same answer that the case has been pending, no decision has been made. I am so frustrated. didn't know I will have to wait for so long. it' has been almost 1 year since I applied.

I filed I-765 online. hope I can get that soon.
