They cashed your checks. Means they received your application and everything seems alright so far. But of course you can get RFEs and they also can reject the case.

It is simply a sign.. not good, not bad... At this stage all they do is input your name into a database.. no real review of the paperwork is done....

YMMV

What it does mean is that your entire packet won't be rejected. It means someone flipped through it to make sure that it met the absolute minimum criteria for getting a barcode and being stuck in a filing box. So congrats for that anyway. :) You can still get RFE's, and of course your case can always be rejected, but it's not likely unless you or your fiancee has some major skeletons in the closet.

You are officially on your way! A cashed check means they have accepted your package as "complete". All that means is at first look, it appears that all the required documents are there. Once your case is assigned, an Agent will look at it in more detail. If he/she sees something they want more information on or they think something is not included, they will let you know via an "RFE" - Request for Evidence. So for now, you passed step #1. Get them to accept the package, assign a case number and cash that check!

Unfortunately they haven't even looked at your petition, to see whether they will approve or reject. That comes much later, after you wait a good few months (about 4-5). For now, they've taken your payment.....made a nice folder with your name, case number and such, and placed the file on the shelf to gather some dust. Did you not know that it is a pre-requisite that files have a 5-7 mm layer of dust on them before they get looked at and adjudicated? ;)

Good luck!
