what is the main difference between the k-3 visa and a marriage visa? let's say my fiancee from korea comes to visit me and we decide to get married while she is here would i apply for a k-3 visa or a marriage visa? also, how long do these visas usually take to process through?

A K3 is a marriage visa (as is CR1). What kind of visa does she plan on entering the country on? You can't switch to a K3 once here. It may be best for you to apply now for a K1 (fiance visa) which requires that you get married within 90 days after she enters the country.

K3 is a spouse visa but not the only one. K1 is the fiance visa.
