Sticks and stones, maybe they would stop doing it then.

Just kidding. It wasn't any institutionalized government system, it was nature. Do I think he should have gotten the death penalty if he was caught? Of course not. Do I feel bad for someone who probably would have shot me if it was a choice between my death and his going to jail for ten years (which he wouldn't have even gotten because of people like you...after all, it was "only" auto theft)? Hard for me to mourn for someone whose sole profession was selfishly taking advantage of others and not helping anyone except himself.

I would think people turn to crime because of their own staggering ignorance, not because of anybody else's. Have some existential responsibility for Pete's sake. My take on it? It may be true that people are a product of their social environment...but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be punished for committing crime.

You're all celebrating the grisly death of a man whose only crime was auto theft? I thought this forum was full of reasonable people, not rampant fascists. Deeply upsetting.

Yep, his only crime. He was a real asset to society, I mean without auto thieves where would society be? He was a piece of ###### and he was eaten by an alligator. As Vonnegut would say, So It Goes...

Which just goes to show your staggering ignorance of why people turn to crime. Honestly, if the governments of the world were full of people like you we'd still be chopping people's hands off for shoplifting.

stop hijacking this thread for your own amusement and agenda.

I think it is a shame they killed the gator. He could have been a great tourist attraction and deterent.

I remember a story about a guy who tried to rob a jewelry store by throwing a brick with all his might into the window which as it turned out was made of Lexan. The brick bounced and clobbered the guy knocking him cold. Poor dumb unconscious robber. I feel so sorry for him. :crying:

Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensedregistered pharmacist". (because somebody gives a damn)

We are not celebrating the grisly death of a man whose only crime was auto theft. We are celebrating the death of a man whose only apparent crime was attempted burglary of an auto. That carries a much lesser penalty than auot theft. But he saved us a lot of trouble by trying to swim with the gators. I was at a Mardi Gras meeting last night with quite a few of my friends and this story came up and to a person, we all sided with the gator. If you don't want to get eaten by a nasty mean ol' gator, don't steal from people and then go swimming with them. Pretty simple right?
