 Ok... My beautiful fianceé is pregnant.

I already know the answer to this question. "Will it speed up the process?" NO... It will not speed up the process.

Therefore that's NOT my question... my questions are:

Do I have to let the US embassy in the Dominican Republic know that she IS pregnant?

I've also heard that if the child is born overseas we will have to do a DNA test to proove the child is mine... Is that true?

If so, how much?

Do you guys think she will be able to get here before the due date... June 2008?

Tim or Scott... :help: I hope you come to the rescue. I've been waiting for the site to be up to ask you or the chief consul, but thought that I could find some kind of help here.

Do I have to let the US embassy in the Dominican Republic know that she IS pregnant?

No. They will know after she takes her medical tho.

I've also heard that if the child is born overseas we will have to do a DNA test to proove the child is mine... Is that true?

Not always. Some embassies require the father to be present when the baby is registered at The US embassy.

If there is doubt they "may" require a DNA test. NO idea what the cost is. Cheaper than having to go thru the immigration process and get the child USC later tho.

If so, how much?

Do you guys think she will be able to get here before the due date... June 2008?

I can't see how it would take that long. Another thing is most airlines won't let pregnant women fly past 7 months or so.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

I would advise you to write a letter to the embassy stating that she's pregnant and the child is yours.

I had my fiance include it in the letter of intent that we sent in with packet 3.

Was just a safeguard so they could be in no doubt that he knew of the pregnancy and accepted that he was the father.

According to your Timeline of date received at IV Unit 09-12-2006, likely you have SDO# of 10,000 or higher. At 1500 per month average, looking at interview June/July/August, 2008.

Who were the "important people" you contacted in May, 2007, as you should have gotten response on their inquiries for you?

I am Immigration Atty member of AILA with primary clients in RD, and currently have 2 mandamus court actions in Federal District Court seeking immediate interviews for K3 and K1 applicants, since what SD is doing is contrary to what Congress intended by the laws they enacted for K3 and K1 visa Applicants, to benefit the family reunification with their USC petitioners.

Our Judge indicated she wanted Department of State to settle and we have have Dec 7 conference where Judge wants answer from State Department.

We will be adding any other K3 and K1 applicants interested in being added to the case. We sued because just waiting is not what Congress enacted special provisions for K3 and K1.

One thing which the Judge would be moved by is numbers, or a volume, as there must be several thousand K3 applicants waiting on the Waiting List of Espera, and more for K1 applicants. Our K1 applicant is pregnant too and having a baby in February which is why we are pushing for settlement or decison now to get interview in December.

The DNA requirement when occurs is usually from American Citizen Services Unit, to insure the paternity of the child by you as American, and is costly and takes time too.

I first saw article about VisaJourney while I was in SD waiting to go to IV interview on very rough case. VisaJourney is great idea, but in SD is hard to figure out exactly what is going on because the Consulate does not give out much information about it, keeping much secret. Information has to be requested from the Visa Office, and bottom line is waiting just because they say to wait, does not get result of fiance or wife being in America ahora.

If of interest to you, and to any other K1 or K3 applicants, please feel able to advise or pass reply around. The only strength there is is in numbers to voice your desire to have your fiancee or wife come to the US NOW, not in July 2008.

My name is Sheldon Zelig, and I have office in Union City, NJ, and contact info is email is szshark@gmail.com if you would like to email back Qs or other. Be strong, be active and dont just wait.

I am new to this forum but would like to share my experience which is somewhat similar I need HELP !!!! MY interview with my fiance was on July 27, 2011

Make a long story short we were approved we have been together since 2002 we have 9 years together and I have since finished college and am a school teacher.

My father and his father grew up together and I stay for months at a time at our home in the Dominican Republic we are truly in love !! The consular told me you are approved BUT the petition will expire soon. I began to cry and my fiance was calming me down while all the people were staring at me at the window. She told us that we would have to file once again for the petition, I said WHAT??? isnt there anything you can do. She turned the mic off and asked two supervisors and they spoke. She told me ok I can give it to you but you have to wait under ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING, she kept his passport and gave us the ticket to pay DOMEX but its been 2 weeks and nothing has happend the petition expired August 6. how is it my fault ??? the interview they gave it to us late.... I dont understand, I call and called the 7 dollars for the pin and they told me to call back in OCTOBER!!!!!???!!! I started to cry what is going on??? I just found out i am PREGNANT and I want to be with him as soon as possible at least before the summer ends. I did everything I paid so much money to get my papers filled out everything right and I still have to go through this??? Please help has anyone else been through this.... She was gonna fill out a green slip and give it to me but she said OH you dont even need this go pay! We are going to do Administrative processing.... please help!

Hi Im so sorry you have to go thrue this situation... the best advice i will give you... call DOMEX to see if they have his passport, and also call this #202-663-1225 this is like calling to the consulete in DR but the office is here in DC.... hopefully they will have a better explanation... what i was thinking is he already aproved your visa but.... why wait? thats my question, once is approved then he will have upto 6 month to leave DR why they told you about ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING??? how long more???? you should ask the representative all this questions... why havent he gotten his pasport yet... what does it means... I wish you the best luck hope he can come asap... Congrats for your baby! :)
