hello everyone, im kinda confused because my mother had said that if my fiance was to come stay with me awhile while our papers are processing that any time he spent with me would be added on to the length of time it would take to process our papers..for example if he stayed 10 days, process would take that much longer. I dont know if its true...but it has me worrying because he was planning to come see me in january and i dont want it to affect and make our waiting process even longer. If its not true, is there somewhere where it actually says something regarding it? Oh and if makes any difference, im the citizen petitioner and my fiance is from japan. I cant go to visit him because i cant take time off from working so hes trying to come see me for a while. Thanks everyone!

Nope, not true at all. Your fiance visiting you has nothing to do with the time it takes for your petition to be approved. My fiance and I are lucky and get to visit once a month, and it hasn't made a difference at all. Don't worry about it!

Correct, your fiance can stay with you as long as his visa (and I-94) allow. No bearing on K-1 process. A good evidence of ongoing relationship, too

NO Only after the k1 visa is granted and interview, you are on the clock for next 6 months to get to the USA, then you have 3 months to marry in and not travel and leave USA.

Seems like your mom does not want him to come! Just kidding! LOL Where did she get that info. from? The above posters are right, as long as he is in his country by the time of the interview, he can stay with you as long as the I-94 NOT THE VISA allows him to remain in the U.S.
