i have an F1 visa and have been married to an american citizen, i haven't filed any type of paperwork and have traveled twice since i got married with my F1 visa...i have never been questioned anything regarding my marital status or inmigration status because i am still a full time student...Yesterday i posted the question of traveling under this circumstances and the response i got was very helpful, but not what my heart wanted to hear....i am considering going anyways....as i don't see a reason why i will be interrogated regarding my marital status....my visa, I-20, and passport all have the same name....why would they asked me if i am married and to whom i am married to? what do you guys think? if i get asked i will say the true...i also have personal property and could easily get letters proving an intent to go back...but do you really think they will ask whom i am married to? is there a way that the fact that i am married would trigger an inmigration officer to ask me that question? please help....my family and friends are eager to see me....

Hi, I didn't read you post yesterday. But....why risk it? Its seems like others have advised you not to travel. I would agree. Sure you have an F-1 you should be able to travel (as far as I understand). But what if and IO asks if you are married. The next question will be, what country is your spouse from? If you get an officer who is particularly difficult or inexperienced that could cause problems for you. What if you can't get back in the US? What about the extra stress and money for you and your spouse. Will you be able to start school again when you are able to get back.

There are a lot of people who had F-1 visas here. I look forward to hearing their opinions too.

I'm sure you miss being home. Hang in there! :)
