On the subject of Veterans Day: Our school system makes a big deal out of Veterans Day. I've been with this system for almost four years now and every Veterans Day we have a ceremony (very nice, very well put together - nothing thrown together at the last moment), we honour the vets in our area (and any that happen to be visiting family and/or friends), we have a memorial for our fallen heroes, and we have our halls decorated a week in advance for the ceremony. I can't say every school system does this but ours does. I guess it depends on the area, whether the people living there feel that Veterans Day is important enough to remember. It is sad that there's not more importance attached to this day. :( For me, it's always been special.
