Looking for a job and 2 recruiters suggested it for me, and the testimonies sounds appealing...

but before paying for that service I just want to know if anyone got lucky with it before? Is it true ?

I don't know what industry you are in, but what about free sites such as Monster.com? Personally I don't think I'd ever pay a site so I could look for a job. Too many resources are available for free.

unfortunately, from monster or careerbuilder, I have seen the same 5-10 postings coming back for months, applied to all and they tell me the job is filled and it's an automatic reposting...

So no unfortunately in my industry jobs aren't talked out loud and recruiters and employers tend to search for employees on a more private base.

So you have to pay to post your resume and search for jobs?

I thought only the people who posted the jobs paid to use these services.

Well these 2 websites work with recruiters that don't post on monster and the other free ones.

For example, resumemessenger sends your resume to all the recruiters in your area in the categorie you choose. I found 700 recruiters in my field in Illinois. I haven't seen so many on monster.

I got the suggestion from 2 different recruiters now that couldnt find a fit for me to look up these website that they are great, and one of them had a client finding a job in 2 weeks on those.

I have been looking for 3+months now :(

my suggestion - give it a try but - get a free email account at yahoo or something, you'll get spammed by using those services. nessa had a listing on them and some of the job offers really creeped me out or were just minimum wage #######. plus the spammers found the email too.

Took me since May! And I start in 2 weeks. And I have extensive experience.

Good luck. Do you have specific sites for your field? In the creative field we have many temp agnecies & sites that recruiters use...

I had found many places and applied for them all, but most of them requires a certification in my state (which I cannot get before next June because I knew about it too late for January)

There are few agencies with my name as well around here, but they haven't found a match yet, or the job was filled too quickly.

Other jobs I have applied for are filled with people that have no degree or experience, and they want to start me with a minimum wage even if I have 5+ years of experience and a degree...

And I got about 5 contacts that wanted me for jobs like bank or life insurance seller, etc. Waaaay not related to my field.

Just getting annoyed by all that #######

Congrats Devilette for the job

Thanks!

You will get spam or financial stuff, I did too. But I also got good stuff. Definitely do monster, you can limit what info they see as well. It is the largest job search place in the US.

nessa got those too. the ones that i thought were creepy involved interviews at a hotel.....

after a while you will notice spam in your email and if it gets to be too much, cancel the account with yahoo after you get a new account and change the resume list. avoid giving out your phone number......
