Hi all -- I've noticed that a number of people on the site seemed to have filed the I-129F and I-130 at the same time, or their filings are overlapping........ any reason why you're filing both together?

Since the two are being processed together at the service centers together, and the I129F is tied to an I130 (the fees for the I129F are included in the I130 filing fee) it seems to be practice since July to file them together. Prior to that, when we filed, we waited for the receipt number from the I130 then filed the I129F under that receipt number. Any evidence of an pending I130 will do, including front and back of the cancelled check (that was being done back when the receipting system was messed up and it was taking weeks to get an actual receipt from the service center).
