K1 Visa approved, 6 months PLUS 90 days?

Hello All,

Well, what can I say.

This has not been clear to me.

The approved K1 is good for 6 months and then you have 90 days to get married.

What if you enter the U.S. at the, say, 5th month.

Do you still have the full 90 days? or is it now only 30 days or something...

You have 90 days from the moment you step foot on US soil.

Once you get your visa, you have 6 months to enter the States. Once you do, you have 90 days from the day you enter, to marry and apply for Adjustment.

Two seperate and distinct consecutive (not concurrent) clocks. When clock #1 stops (the 6 month clock), clock #2 begins (the 90 day clock). Please note that the second clock is 90 days and not 3 months. Some have unpleasantly surprised by this.

Well, yes and no. You have 90 days to marry. You can wait to adjust. I've known people who have waited a year to adjust. I wouldn't suggest it, though, especially if finding a job is in the picture.
