Well its more that I don't understand the need to take a misunderstanding personally - certainly not when the other person has been pretty up-front with their views, and has clarified them where necessary.

I don't know, but i've heard it here on VJ, how people say 'why is there a spanish tv, why is there a presione 2 para español?, why don't they learn english? why spanish ads?' I've heard it many times on the street, 'ohhg, why don't they learn english'.. heck, I've even heard people talking about spanish as if it were a 'lower language', a stupid language.. why, I don't know either..

I took 3 years of Spanish 1 and failed all 3 years. I will have a Russian channel for my sweetie. The hispanics can have all the channels they want. I am trying to teach myself Russian (pain in the butt by the way). It would be ideal to have everyone speaking one language but 1) I don't think it is going to happen and 2) I don't think it needs to happen. We can have an official language but diversity is great. I like it. I enjoy traveling and have been to Mexico a few times. It is up to me to learn the language so I can communicate. it would hurt if those who come here learn enough to get by. I don't think it needs to be legislated but it would be helpful to all.

i have allot of russian channels also,,,and some spanish channels..i like the different culture aspects..and i get a chinese mtv and an india channel for free..don't know why but they come through
