Well going by this post in another thread - if you can claim that living in California is sufficient to be able to claim that illegal aliens can be recognised by sight, why can't a similar, general claim be made about bigots?

I don't think I was - but feel free to clarify the meaning I apparently misunderstood - why PH's general claim is invalid, while the one quoted above is not.

Illegals and their illegal activities also have a significant effect on the lives of legitimate citizens who happen to look 'wrong'.

Meaning what? Yes, there are a significant proportion of illegal immigrants who are or look Hispanic. Does that make it acceptable to treat USC's who are or look Hispanic differently?

I declare I don't understand what I am being accused of, speaking for America? That doesn't make any sense. I have made what I thought was a simple statement of fact, there are bigots in America, bigoted against Hispanics. They make their presence felt because they are very vocal in their activities. What percentage there are I don't know, but their voice does negatively impact on anyone who looks Hispanic. I don't make this stuff up.

Interestingly enough PH didn't say she was "speaking for America" either. More than that I'd say we're all able to tell the difference between subjective opinion and objective truth. Fair's fair after all.

Ok, I have had a breakthrough, apparently bigotry against Hispanics is a colouful invention of my own imagination.

Nowhere in my post did I indicate anything about any members of VJ, real or imaginary. I thought it was clear, mostly because I referenced an incident that happened outside of VJ to Gary's real wife. I know it was one incident, and doesn't anyway dictate the percentage of people who think that way, but they are real, and they are vocal and they cause harm. End of.
