Okay here's my dilemma. I know what I like to eat, don't know the names. ;)

I used to have a lentil dish at a restaurant in Canada that basically translated to "lentils in butter sauce" or "butter lentils". I'm looking for that recipe. I know lentils are "dal" but well, doing a recipe search for that brings up a bzillion things that look close but not quite, along with ingredients I can't for the life of me recognize.

Tangentally related, I'm looking for a good Indian recipe site.

We're having cauliflower korma and I'm looking for a protein to go with it. CAPS doesn't like one of the spices in most 'curries' (we think it's turmeric but because here 'curry' is pretty much a misnomer we can't determine for sure...I'm used to making my homemade Indian food with 'curry powder' and I know that won't work for him). I think the butter lentils I've had don't have that ingredient or can stand to be missing it if they do...but wanted to do some comparison-looking at recipes to see what else might be possible.

Alternatively, if anyone can suggest something that would go with the korma, protein-wise, that would be fabulous. Doesn't necessarily need to be vegetarian, but can be.

Thanks! :)

I have nothing to add or any answers but I am so mad at you because now I am CRAVING CURRY so badly.

Curry is NOT on my diet! :)

LOL Sorry! Blame Gimygirl for getting me hungry with Brit food. ;)

Just out of curiosity, none of the curries I've seen are particularly fattening...is it just a special diet or am I missing how 'bad' they are?

Maybe she's on an avoid-diarrhea diet.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Try THIS website.

Its for the curry house. There is a lot of nice recipes and a glossary of the terms if you aren't familiar with them. A frequently asked question section as well as tips for cooking. You kind of have to dig around the site to find what you are looking for but the info is great

it's not the curry that's bad - it's the dishes you MAKE with it - I'm on Jenny Craig so I can't really eat anything BUT That.

I love me some curry.

Ah! I was on Jenny years ago so I get you completely!
