Talk about impatient, I CANNOT wait for snail mail anymore. I just sent in my Packet 3 docs to the Embassy via UPS today after downloading all the forms. Thank GOD for the internet!!!!! :dancing::dancing::dancing:

I just hope the consulate accepts and processes your docs. You are sending in documents before the consulate asked for them. Finally the consulate tells you how fast things go.

If I would be in the position of the consulary officer I would at least one eyebrow to receive documents before they can arrive or before I even sent out the necessary documents.

I hope for you that your fast shot didn't delay things more than bringing them actually forward. You are already far in the process. So why are you so impatient?

Nope. The Embassy said all they needed was for my case to arrive there from the NVC, which it did on April 7th (they confirmed). They told me directly that I did NOT need to wait for Packet 3 to arrive via mail, just download the forms and instructions from the web.

I think it will be OK. My lawyer says that when my NOA2 comes in he will send the packet 3 via fax before they ask for it. It is the one way a lawyer can speed things up.

I am not as experienced as many on this board but the forms can be down loaded and sent off before the snail mail ones arrive as long as you have your case number from the NVC this has to be put on the top of the forms, then you are good to send them.

I am sure someone will correct if this is wrong

Exactly what documents did you send, and do you know if your case was actually received at the consulate handling your case?

You stand a risk of having them discard what you sent them if they do not have your case in their system.

Most people do not celebrate sending "Packet 3" docs. They do however celebrate NOA2, Interview Date, and actually receiving their Visa.

Patience is a virtue.

You hit this one right on the head. I wasn't foolish enough to send in our docs before they said I could. I'm just glad that they posted the need forms on the web so I wouldn't have to wait WEEKS to receive them.

I agree that the OP could potentially mess things up but we dont know that for sure. I think that the forms will get to the consulate and they wont be able to match them up to an NVC number...unless...the NVC electronically sends these to the embassies. (Im guessing they are in the package of petitions and are processed as they arrive) So that would mean that someone over there will open it and file it, or open it and send it back, or open it and its sits on someone's desk. I doubt you are the first person to do this cause I jumped the gun and downloaded my packet three forms too. I also wanted to rush my fiance to the medical without packet three. I think there are your patient content couples on here....then there's us spazoids who believe if they have to wait one more day without doing anything they will need Prozac to cope. I think the OP should give it a couple weeks then call to find out if it arrived.

My Packet 3 documentation had a serious error on it - and if I had sent in my packet 3 papers before I had received the packet in the mail (with the error), I wouldn't have known to tell them to fix it.

But whatever you feel comfortable with.

Well there is always the possibility of something like that, but since I have a direct e-mail from the Embassy tellling me it's okay, I can't see how they can hold it against me. Likewise, the error could be in the mailed form and correct online, who knows????

The error was human error on their part, not a problem with a form. It was a mistake they made in my particular case, that would not have been corrected had I sent in my packet 3 forms before receiving my packet 3.
