Hello Wonder-Full VJers,

I'm kidding about hitting anything.

The search function when seeking for example: refused entry, find hundreds of threads and none relevant with both words together.

Search tips for the n00b anyone?

Thanks.

Here's my question though:

I am (put two fingers very close together) this close to printing and mailing my packet 3 to the Montreal U.S. Consulate.

Yippee. What do i check off on the DS 156, pg 2, question 31 and question 38, second bullet when asked about being refused entry to the U.S.

I was allowed to sign and I have a copy of this: "Withdrawal of Application for Admission".

Technically I thought the customs dude told me that I was not "being refused", but I cannot be sure as I was shocked at the time.

They handed me a piece of paper that I had to fulfill the requirements called "Ties and Equities".

As I said before I couldn't do that, hence my staying put in Canada...and still cannot do this fully.

But no huge matter (unless I do have an emergency to attend to), as the K1 will end some day in the future....as soon as Montreal shakes its booty. :)

I have been back from my last trip to the U.S. for over a year now.

I would check yes you were refused and then write an explanation stating you were given the right to withdraw your request because you weren't able to prove at the time that you had sufficient ties to Canada to convince them you would not stay in the States. It shouldn't cause you any problems with the visa or with the interview. The important thing is to always tell the truth. You didn't enter the US but it is because they gave you the option of turning back at the border rather than being turned back, but if you had been allowed to enter, you would have. You were not allowed to enter, therefor you were denied entry. Rather then get caught up in a play of words that could open you up to a 'misrepresentation' charge, say yes and write the explanation. It won't hurt you.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Ditto. Answer "yes" and then attach a page explaining what exactly happened. Remember to "name" the page "Attachment #whatever: response to question blah blah blah) and SIGN it. You should be fine.

Thank you both greatly.

I did not plan on hiding any of it.

I am considering giving them my report cards from elementary school, my shoe size, blood type, What i like in my coffee, my tree-hugging environmental philosophies, my thoughts on serendipity, etc, etc, etc. Hahaha.

I would like to drown them in information....make sure they are fully satisfied.

Great advice on numbering pages, etc.

I had not thought of that.

I sure have a lot of attachments: schools/education, places I've lived, visits to the U.S., jobs and clients, story explaining ancient misdemeanor, etc etc etc.

It is getting heavy.

:star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

I am giving all of you five stars.

What you take in your coffee might be grounds for inadmissibility.... do you by any chance spice it up with Bailey's????? Just kidding.

But DO number/name all attachments - and just to b on the safe side, include the cover letter saying exactly what you're sending them. AND of course keep copies of everydarnlittlebittything you send.
