I met my husband on a dating site. He found me, I had given up on the whole thing, it was my daughters ideal to make me a profile. He had a web graphics company and she like graphics so she wanted me to talk to him so that he could send us a program that she wanted. He did send us the program bit by bit and it took a few days and we would chat and then I couldn't stop wanting to spend all the time I could talking with him. We would be on mics and web cams for hours. I realized that I was having feelings for him and he for I am I freaked out and said I couldn't keep this up and tried to stay away and couldn't. He said that we could apply for a fiance visa and that it could take a year or two. I swore that I would not go to Jordan but after I was researching this whole visa process I decided that I would go to marry him and that way he could come sooner. I love my husband and he has been in the USA since June and it only gets better.

Wow, so he told YOU about the fiance visa? That's interesting because both Hicham and I had no idea what how to deal with immigration.

Why so interesting? My husbands sister was brought over on a fiance visa by her (moroccan) fiance. How many others have family in similar situations? Why wouldn't they know about them. My husband had heard of it but he had no idea what so ever what to expect. In fact, when we got the approval for our I-130 we thought we were done and thought it was time to celebrate. How naive was that????

I don't see what is so confusing here. I said why I thought it was interesting- because Hicham and I both had no idea about immigration.

Others might know a lot about immigration. We're all different.

I didn't see anything in her post that suggested that he knows a lot about immigration. Did I miss something?

VJ Hours - I am available M-F from 10am - 5pm PST. I will occasionaly put in some OT for a fairly good poo slinging thread or a donut.

OMG I just read your footer. That is hilarious!! Gotta love a good donut!

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

We met in Amman - I was introduced to her.

When I first ran into her - I was sorta extremely silent and didn't say a word.

She later told me "I thought you didn't even notice me..." - well, turns out I had jet lag hardcore, didn't sleep a wink on the entire nonstop flight ... and I didn't want to say anything stupid (Which I tend to do when upset/tired/overworked/stressed/etc.) :)

The moral of my story: Stick with someone who matches your own culture.

( This coming from an Arab who married an Arab from overseas... go figure. )

We met in Paris in 2001 when I was on vacation and he was living and working there. I walked into his store and we struck up a conversation, and arranged to meet at Versailles the next day. We hung out together, went to Nice, and I thought it was a nice holiday romance. When I got back, we talked all the time. I went back 4 more times, and finally moved there in 2004. In 2005, he proposed, I moved back to the U.S., and he followed shortly thereafter. :)

I met my fiance in France.... He was knocking on my 7th floor appartment window

He was doing repair work on the scaffolding outside and thought my window was for the building owner's appartment (I lived right next door to her) After that I started seeing him around the building doing work and we started talking.

Now that's a story!!!!
