I just searched the VJ timelines for approved K1's from CSC and found 12 I-129f's received at the same time as or later than my application that have had NOA2's issued. I have not had my application touched. The majority of the NOA2's are from Manilla or Asia. Is this SOP to put certain geographical areas ahead of others. Is that what is happening here? Does anyone know why my application seems to be on hold?

I started a thread somewhere on VJ about this, but the general consensus of responses was that petitions are not processed by country or region, but I really don't know.

Here is the breakdown for CSC NOA2:

Case filed later than 6/20/07

Manilla - 7

Guangzhou - 1

Bangkok - 1

Rio - 1

Bucharest - 1

Moscow - 1

This is not to say that there were not more apps from Manilla but my question was why all these that were filed at the same time or after mine were approved to NOA2 while mine still languishes at CSC? I am hopeful that this indicates an impending NOA2 in my mailbox any day now. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Yeah, I doubt you can draw any conclusions by region. It could be that there are just more PI filers on VJ at the moment, or maybe that there are just more PI applicants overall. USCIS has said they don't file by region, I'd take them at their word.

I understand this but I still don't know why all but two of these applications were received after mine and yet there is still no word. I am like everyone else. Just fraking out a little because I am still in limbo. Arrrggggg!!!

The next is UK with 172 K1

So I think the reason there are more people from the Philippines getting approved before you is because more people from the Philippines petitioned.

It is frustrating though to see NOA1 dates after your own receive NOA2 from the same service center while yours remains unprocessed, regardless of what country they are from. We are all just anxious during our long wait. Courage, NavarreMan, it will come!

You kind of missed the point here. It is not that there are MORE petitions from Manilla, it is that they are filed after mine and are approved before mine. Sort of like cutting in line. I do not find blame with the petitioners but do question the protocol of USCIS.

Thanks Kevin. I'ma hangin' in thar! :jest: (and good luck on yours, it should be right around the corner!!!)

I don't think he missed the point... or if he did, he inadvertently made another one just as good ;)

the petitions aren't processed EXACTLY in order; that would be impossible, and simply doesn't happen

so SOMEONE is going to 'cut ahead of you in line', as you put it

now, if there are, say, 200 people from the Philippines ahead if you (all numbers pulled out of the air ;) ), but only 10 from Germany, and 8 from Australia, and so on, then the odds are very much in favour of those few being processed ahead of you being from the Philippines, just from sheer probability

there MAY be more to it than that, but I've yet to be convinced :)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

I think you have it spot on. There are hundreds of thousands of petitions that go through the system. Even discounting RFE's, there's just no way they can be processed in exactly the same order. The only way that could happen is if there was one person working on all petitions, one at a time. Once you start parallelizing the workflow (can you tell I'm a project manager? :) ) then things start to get out of sync. Where I would be concerned is if all of a sudden June filers stopped seeing NOA2's, and October filers were being approved left and right. But what we're actually seeing is a distribution that we would roughly expect to see, however slow that may be.

Well dammit!!! Give my petition to the fast worker!!!

I don't envision a huge pile of apps on a desk nearly as much as a numbering system that numbers the apps as they are received. They are then worked in the order they come in the door, much like "Please Take a Number". It really doesn't matter which way they do it. I am impatient now and nothing short of a NOA2 will calm me down at this point though I will try and behave myself.
