Has anyone had any luck contacting the Embassy in Ukraine? I called the number for American citizens to use from their website, but it just has options to set up an appointment. What is the best way to speak with a person? I need to get in touch and find out if they have received the approved petition from the NVC yet. My fiance is also having trouble contacting them from within Ukraine.

Any tips/help would be appreciated. Thanks!

if you haven't already refer to the US Embassy/Kyiv website for info regarding the K visa process - it's very thorough and informative. http://kyiv.usembassy.gov/visa_K1K2_eng.html

Since Veteran's day is observed today you may not reach anyone in the embassy. even if today wasn't a holiday i'm not sure you would get anyone on the phone anyway. i believe once the embassy receives the packet from NVC the embassy contacts the beneficary directly to set up a appointment.

when did you get notice the petition was sent?

E-mail is by far the best way... Not always the fastest but the best way...

Great. Thank you all. I also forgot that they may be observing Veteran's Day today. I sent them an e-mail and I'll hope for a response tomorrow.

You are wasting your time by phone, do not even bother. Email them and within the day they will reply. Also remember they are ahead of us about 7 - 10 hours depending on what time zone you are in, so email now and it is after midnight, but at least later tonight around 9 pm - 12 am it will be early morning there and you may get a response back from them by tonight, also their email is on their website.
