Hi all, this is such a wonderful forum. I have done some research on the site and am beginning to wonder why it is taking so long for Rome or Naples to contact us. hopefully someone here will have some perspective on what I am encountering and can help me understand it.

I am filing for my husband. we submitted on the 20th of September in Rome, and the woman at the window indicated that everything was "very professional looking" the permesso di soggiorno from one year ago was "fine" for proof of residency and we would be contacted in a week or so.

Nothing.

I called Rome to find out what was up. No one would talk to me so i spoke to the pay as you go service. They told me I had to call NAples. I have been trying to reach Naples for the past two weeks.

I will try again.

Is this normal?

Thanks!

I don't know what other people have experienced, but since they said you would hear something within a week or so, I would be worried and would continue trying to contact them.

There are very few DCF Italy timelines on VJ, but certainly none as long as yours.

As usual MargotDarko's sage advice is absolutley correct - keep bugging them.:thumbs:

Does anyone know if the DOS might be any help with this?

Spoke to a lovely woman, Mrs. Hines, she told me they mailed in on October 15!!!!!!

That da%%***@!*$%d Sicilian post office.

als they called but we didn't get the phone call either.
