On a positive note; Lorena Ochoa just won her first championship, and moved to the top of the money list of the LPGA. Plenty of supporters there in Las Vegas waving Mexican flags to support her. Thank goodness golf is truly an international sport. :thumbs:

Some golfers can be such spazzes though.

Don't let other people's prejudices get you down. Sometimes people make worse accuasitions towards muslims, but that doesn't stop me from posting to attempt to dispell the myths...

I'm sorry you feel like you have to go Pedroh... I have to say that I will NOT open any thread which makes reference to any of the current 'hot' subjects because intolerance and bigotry really upsets me and they seem to breed it, even here. If I don't see the posts then I can't get upset about them...

I think its sad that anyone would feel so offended they would leave. And there is lots of ignorance in some posts. But why is it okay for Pedroh to sputter and swear and generally behave in a racist manner towards Americans, or at least the 'ignorant Americans' who according to him are the majority.

Damn right generalizations hurt.

5/5/06 Interview in Vancouver - Approved!

5/9/06 Drove to Seattle then flew to Tampa - Yay welcome back 'home'

mid July - got married

early August - sent AOS/EAD applications

08/14/06 NOA for AOS/EAD

08/22/06 RFE - sent more financial info (most they already had, but we resent anyway)

09/09/06 - Biometrics

09/11/06 -NOA - transferred to California Service Center

10/16/06 - Approved without interview!!!!! Yay, what a birthday present! (but still no EAD!)

a racist manner towards Americans? #######? I think he actually went pretty far into trying to understand both sides and offer a unique perspective.....I never took anything he said as racist. Swearing.....hey, we're adults and sometimes we get a little pissed off.

OUR COMPLETE TIMELINE

Latest steps:

10/26/2006- Consulate receives case (seriously, one month to receive the case?? BS!), and packet 3 that I sent even before they had received the case.

01/02/2007- Interview!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got a 221(g)

01/23/2007- Second Interview. VISA granted!!!

01/29/2007- VISA arrived.... no envelope though. I'm gonna contact them and see what happened this time!

01/31/2007- I'll have to send them one last financial support evidence.

02/01/2007- Evidence sent

02/02/2007- Evidence received by Consulate

02/06/2007- Consulate sends envelope!

02/07/2007- Envelope received!!!

02/10/2007- Flew to the USA!!!!!!

04/17/2007- Wedding day!!!

Sorry to see Pedroh is leaving. Problem is, this is a hot topic. We discuss it daily in reaction to the news. Hot topics are rarely (if ever) handled with kid-gloves. We all have opinions about it, and this is a place where we get to express them. One person's bigotry and ignorance is another's truth.
