Just an update. My Wife received Packet from Embassy today.:dance:

Congratulations Jim and Rachel.

@ Liz The USEM website states it can take up to 90 days to schedule an interview. I think this may be a standard to give themselves plenty of time. Fortunately, it does not take this long in Manila. Is there a number for the petitioner to call the consulate office?

I am hearing crazy stories from people about the interview process. but, i have heard from someone that just went to the interview and they talk to you like your friend and find your story true or not. other people are telling me to bring all kinds of ####### for verification, and one lawyer told me to just bring the wedding pictures and the invitation because they don't want to see all that other ####### people bring in. my lawyer is not telling me anything at all!

Hi Song,

I will recommend you to bring as much proof as possible; I have heard from a couple of people that when they see you are really prepared they are convinced easily that you two are a real couple.

As of me, I am bringing pictures, letters, emails, cards, marriage certificate. I know it sounds exaggerating but you always want to be more prepared just in case.

So you have your interview date already???

Good Luck

Liz

No, we are still waiting for the Embassy to schedule an appointment for my husband. I called them yesterday and nothing has happened. I just feel it's unfair because I have been waiting for this so long, and alot of people that had similar dates, have their interviews already; I mean I have nothing against them and hopefully everyone can successfully finish their Immigration processes, but I think the USCIS, the NVC and the Embassy should keep everyone in the order of dates :(

As for the emails, I will say print just enough; in my case I dont have that many (I have like 20) because my husband barelly got internet. So, just take what you think its appropriate, and convincing to them.

For pictures, I have heard from people that if your wife takes them placed on a Wedding album, or some type of album, it makes it easier for them to believe that it is a real marriage.

So what city from Mexico is your wife from???

Hope the info helps,

Liz Leija

We received our interview date of February 6 last night.

I agree it is better to have plenty of proof. It is much easier to carry documents into the Embasy than to get put on AR and have to provide more proof.

 Congratulations edp333

I agree, more is better. I think my wifes file is 6 inches thick already, but, if they ask for something, I am sure she will have it.

She is in Manila now hoping to get an early medical and also do the seminar before the interview.

This should help her wait time seem to go by faster.

Good luck to all

Hey Liz!

My wife is from Culiacan Sinaloa! She is living in Culiacan right now and I have been visiting her every 2 weeks . . for the past year! I am broke. Her name is Liz. :)

Anyway, thanks for the advice, . . everyone! I will take as much paper as I can, even though it will be a book. It was helpful to know that James is taking a 6 incher! That makes sense. . . if they want proof that we never went a day without talking to each other, I got it. :)

Now, . . . if they only could send us some papers. . . and perhaps a date!

OK, according to my lawyer, they are required to provide the interview date before the expiration of your I-129F! Mine states that it is only valid until 2-22-08. So, he told me that if they do not honor that, there will be some legal ramifications for the government.

thanks!
