Just because the men live at home with their families doesn't mean they're being supported by these families. My husband lived at home but his family didn't support him and vice versa. My husband wasn't living in the lap of luxury either while living at home. I can't say that his family is "poor" by Egypt standards but by US standards they are definitely poor. Rich or poor, living at home or not, these men all had lives prior to meeting their wives and fiancees. They all had food to eat and a place to sleep. Just because the men aren't living the good life by US standards doesn't mean they're owed money or gifts. Mollycoddling these guys because they were born in a poor country isn't helping them or yourselves.

Just want to add that its quite the norm for MENA men to live with their families until they get married.

VJ Hours - I am available M-F from 10am - 5pm PST. I will occasionaly put in some OT for a fairly good poo slinging thread or a donut.

just curious

of course my wife lives at home

I was thinking the same thing about my husband.

I think the wording is throwing me.

You meant in their native country?

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

And from what I understand, it is unthinkable for an unmarried woman to live on her own there, no matter their age. That to me is soooo foreign!

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

Even in israel. I voted no because my husband moved out at 13 and never returned home (long story) but all of his brothers and sisters lived at home until they got married, some still lived at home with their spouse after they got married and two are still single and lliving at home. I cant see ANY of them moving out before marriage except my husband who essentially is the alpha in the family, over the father. its a strange set up but they all basically see my husband as the patriarch of the family even though they give my FIL all of the respect in the world. But all of his brothers and sisters once they graduated highschool got jobs and if they didnt contribute to the household they definately paid for their own luxuries.

Yeah this poll isn't helping me find out what I wanted to. I think I worded and made it wrong. I've asked for it to be shut down though it is interesting to see that a lot of these guys don't actually live at home when I thought it really was the norm for them to do so, so I guess I did get some interesting info out of it. lol.
