I would like to know if there are in support groups for interrical couples? Prefer Africian with an american. Im in Oklahoma (see my post) recommended by someone one here, im willing to go to a group to learn all what im missing out on. As for my husband I have filed for a divorce but would love to have a relationship with another Africian that is really looking for someone to settle down with.

I wish you the best when the time comes for another relationship. Just take it slow until you have healed from your broken heart.

It does take some time.

Maybe you could do a google search on the kind of group you would like for support or start your own.

If I hear of any I will let you know.

Rashell,

Out of curiosity, why is your focus on African American relationships. If you are looking for someone to settle down with, why not open your heart to anyone from any racial background? When you seek love desperately, you sometimes open your heart to be taken advantage of. You have to take your time with the next relationship....stop offering to do everything. You have children...you have bills... you must prioritize. Open your heart so that the right person can find you and not you go seeking them. From your posts, it seems as though you are setting yourself up to get used and taken advantage of. There are many desperate men out there that are looking for someone to use. Believe me, you MUST BE CAREFUL. YOU HAVE A LOT AT STAKE!

I agree and thats not what im after. I have dated various races and the africans i dated i could kick myself for letting them go then the one i decided to hold onto duked me. I will be careful and like stated eariler I will date first. Im not looking for someone now my post may have appeared that way but the relationship would only be a rebound, and my children would really be confussed. I thank you for your words and concern

I think you should take some time for yourself, relax and just let things happen naturally. You say you aren't looking for a relationship and I hope this is true for the sake of your children.

Let yourself mend, take time for you and just live. You never know when someone (perhaps "the one") will come into your life, whether it be an American or someone from another country. Give yourself some time.

Best of luck to you. :)

Before you move forward looking to find love with another man, preferably as you stated with an African man, slow your roll girlfriend!!!!! ;) Go through the motions that goes with the divorce proceedings and more importantly, as others have already advised you, take time for yourself...From every experience we encounter, there are lessons to be learned so we do not repeat them again...Take Care and God Bless!

It almost sounds to me like you want more of a dating service then a support group.

I wish you luck in it all.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Thank u for your input. In the past my husband would says things that didn't sound right but he ment something else. I think thats what IO did. I did file for divorce but because Im expecting the jude wont sign the papers. My husband says im inpatient and do things when I dont get my way. He is still talking about a rest for 2 months then go from there. I wanted out. Im willing to try to make it work if he shows me that is what he wants. Someone suggested that I get involved in a local support group dealing with interrical issues, and finding out more about the African cultural and maybe that would somewhat help in our relationship. I agree because we were bought up totally different and this is one of the things the counslor suggested also. Because of my husbands actions I too started stero-typing Africans and im sory for doing that. I deal with enough to know ther are not all bad as a matter of fact they are some of my support through this. My statement only ment I know different and no my husband didn't mess it up for other Africans. Im in no condition to date now and even if I was not pg I wouldn't want my children to think this is the way of life. I have dated many men but my children have only seen 2. I wouldn't want them to think I meet men and bring them home. I have resepct for myself but most of all for them.

Please know the difference between him really wanting to make it work and buying time so he can remain here.

What he did was not a cultural misunderstanding on your part but blatant disrespect and cheating.

If he wants to make it work then he would be with you now or on the next bus.

The issues go so much deeper than cultural understanding.

Be careful not to make excuses for him and see him for who he is.
