Ok, so as many of you guys know my husband's petition was sent to the Embassy of Ciudad Juarez already on Nov. the 8th. I searched for the phone numbers they have for customer service and I called them today like 10 minutes ago (which was not cheap 'cause they charge me $7 dlls. per call). Anyways, they told me something that was not very enthusiastic:

1. I asked them how long does it take for the Embassy to receive the information from the NVC using DHL service, and they said it could take up to a month.

2. My husband is currently living in Mexico, anxiously waiting for the interview date, so I askes them who is the one (me the petitioner, or my husband the benefiery) who will receive the packet?? They told me that I was going to receive the packet.

3. I also asked them if we had to send the filled out packet back to the Embassy before our interview, and they said that for the Visa K3 interviews we dont have to send the packet back before the interview, we can just take it on the interview day.

I don't know if I should rely on his answers since he seemed like he was mad or on a hurry.

If you guys have some ideas, please let me know; I am going crazy right here :(

I think you should call NVC again and ask those same questions. Some of the workers there are such a pain to deal with. I call twice everytime, just to be on the safe side, and the answers should always be consistent. What I understand, Packet 3 and 4 should now be received by beneficiary and those packets are brought along during the interview of the beneficiary. I always notice that workers in NVC and in USCIS always give the "30 day/month" answer for things to go back and forth from NVC to the Consulate, they have to cover their ground too so that not everyone petitioning calls asking everyday why the packet hasnt been sent or what not. I have to call again to find out if NVC received my packet, its been only 2 weeks but they should at least received it, since in 2 more weeks, the consulate in Manila, should then receive the packet (hopefully)!. Good luck.

Thanks :)

I called the Embassy again, and they told me they received on Nov. 20, hopefully I can get the packet before Christmas.

Hi Liz, our appointment will also be in Ciudad Juarez (but we still have to wait for that). Anyway, after reading through the Ciudad Juarez Embassy website I fould out that Ciudad Juarez will send you the interview letter along with the packet. So it's actually kind of cool that we don't need to send the documents to the embassy in order to get an interview. We just take all lf the documents from the packet filled out and submit them the day of the interview. So yes, I think the info they gave you is right.

However, I am not so sure who gets the packet...the petitioner in the US or the beneficiary in Mexico. By reading the guides it kind of points out that the beneficiary will get it. I don't really trust the mail service there...you probably know what I mean.

Hi!!!

I have asked a couple of people about who will receive the packet, and all of them tell me that I will receive the packet here in Texas; I am pretty sure you would also receive the packet here in the US too.

Thanks for responding :)
