I cannot comment on timelines other than K1, however that does sound way too long.

Have you looked at other Canadian timelines for your particular visa?

Also, do email the consulate. They do actually respond although they pad themselves an awful lot.

Those stats are for the 8 Canadian IR-1/CR-1 cases pending in the last 6 months. It only includes the Montreal Consulate because that is the only Consulate that processes them. Perhaps there is just 1 of those 8 that took exceptionally long (string of RFE's or something) that is just blowing the whole average off kilter. Let's hope so.

Nowadays the waiting times at MTL are the same for either. Sad, but true

Unless I'm reading wrong, it looks like the average # of days between NOA2 and interview for the last year are only 285. Here's the link where I found that info:

Makes sense too, since like others said, the average wait time for an interview is 4-6 months, and unless you have alot of RFE's NVC shouldn't take much longer than 6-8 weeks, give or take.
