My grandfather (my dad's dad) was in the Corps 1916-1919. Semper Fi! Happy Birthday Marine Corps! :thumbs:

My husband was in the marines although he got out long before I met him. He is still very much a proud marine at heart. In fact, so proud is he that he has a personalized plate on his daily drive that says 4MR USMC :)

09/02/08: Received NOA...........Priority date: 08/20/08

09/02/08: Received Biometrics Notification

09/18/08: Biometrics completed - Charlotte DO

10/24/08: Received Interview Letter

12/08/08: Interview @ 1:00pm. APPROVED!

01/05/09: Oath Ceremony 10:00AM. Now officially a USC!!!

my brother was a Marine..served 2 tours of duty in viet nam..was wounded on the 2nd one in the anh sah valley in loas.. was at khe shan..and 3 miles from the dmz...

since he had his accident and head injury,..3 of his buddies came..one said, he was wounded in a fire fight and my brother ran out and carried him to safety...and to the chopper..where he almost died in transit..he had 3kids and came to say thanks and tell us the story..as my brother never said a word about anything that happen there...\

in the end, he was always my hero since i was 2..and i am know he is not long for this world and is only a shell of himself this days..

but once, he told me recently..he was young and marine and proud..
