Ok, thanks for your patience, here goes....it's a ramble, but bear with me

Hotel Centreville - nice enough, little kitchenette, hard bed, but decent. I had forgotten to make copies of 7 things, and they went ahead and copied them for me at the front desk....very nice.

Deli / coffee place beside the hotel - don't bother....really. Go to Timmy's

We spent the evening touring around Montreal. You've got to try to make time to see the Notre Dame Basillica - absolutely amazing. I took a ton of pics, all of which came out too dark. Went to Verdun after the interview for what Trev's best friend called the best pizza around...it was very good. We ate well the whole time there.

Interview day....first off, Cheers to all of you we met that day, you (like everyone here) are wonderful dynamic individuals, your love for one another just radiates from you....and I'm glad to have shared the morning with you. We met some VJ'ers at Timmy's, more at the consulate....one couple 30 minutes from me - wow. Like I said in my earlier post, we really were the most cheerful bunch aside from a few individuals (prob'ly Doug ). The security folks were.......well, security folks. The one thing I noticed was that the dude at the door conducting our lines and asking for letters made no eye contact. I found that odd. Up we went to the 19th floor (hope that's right, lol, there are only 3 choices in the elevator). There were only a few of us in the elevator, so there was no pressure to get off at the back. We were number C2, the lady at window 14 was sick so we all stood around a bit, finally got through that, and went to sit down and wait. We got called.......by Debbie! Again, no eye contact. She was having a 1/2 decent day. Started with the paperwork and off Trev went to pay his fee. She's abrupt but decent enough. Trev hadn't gotten his German record translated, though she commented on it (we had a dictionary, lmao), she simply moved on. She didn't ask for further proof, I was armed for bear and kind of disappointed she didn't ask. I asked her if she wanted the pictures I brought and she chuckled (!!!) and said, no dear we have enough pictures....still makes me laugh. I had followed someone's post here so had things in the order she asked for them (thank you!!)...you'd think I was a Type A or something. Then back to wait for about 1/2 an hour. We got called to Room 7, VERY nice man, who made eye contact. He asked us where we met, what I did, what he planned to do, commented on the German record, but again moved on. He asked how often we've seen each other and what we did, so we told him about the white water rafting in Ottawa, the kayaking Georgian Bay and Lake Huron in Tobermory, seeing Nunsense in Missisauga, and going to Elora Gorge, kayaking here.....he chuckled and said "Ok, I'm convinced, sounds like you two have had lots of fun". He told us Trev would have the visa in 2-3 weeks.

We got back to Bradford to find a bit of snow on the grass and cars...it was lovely.

Really was a positive experience. I'm glad this leg of the journey is done. Trev will come down probably the first of the year, and off we'll go to the AOS after a lovely small Celtic-ish ceremony with friends and family.

Keep us posted on when you get your visa in hand. My interviewer also told me it would take 2-3 weeks (though most people seem to be told they will get theirs in a week), so I'm anxious to see how long it will actually take

Just checked Xpress post site today, and it was accepted at the Montreal post office yesterday, so he should have it by Tues
