I have a friend who is on a student visa living in canada and wants to apply for the immigration for canada. My question is that if he applies for it and the immigration officer returns his application without processing it, and tells him that he is not eligible. Will he get his processing fee back or not ?

thanks

Hi summiya,

If they have not started processing it, he is probably entitled to a refund:

Refunds (link)

To obtain a refund, you need to send a written request to withdraw your application to the processing centre. The processing fee is only refundable if we receive your request before processing has begun. Once we have started to process your application, there will be no refunds regardless of the final decision.

He should give them a call: 1 888 242‑2100
