I put the control number instead of the Visa number on my petition. Geez, it was red and bled into the background and didn't say Visa Number, but still. What do you think, it will be corrected there by a helpful officer since a copy of the visa is right in front of them, or they will send it back RFE?

Geez, geez, geez

orion44,

By their own 'rules' the person adjudicating your case is supposed to do whatever it takes to avoid an RFE - meaning he/she should be able to pull this information up (assuming they can). I know that sounds like it's good for a laugh, but that's what they're supposed to do..

I wonder why they would then send out RFEs if you don't include a copy of the approved I-129F petition. They could simply look for that in their own database...

This the topic I was looking around. I did the same mistake and whoever approved my 2's K-2 didn't see it. I was told by the 800# that their A# was the Non-immigrant Visa # in red. The cases were approved and their A#'s assigned were the Non-immigrant visa#'s. I received the greencards and when I went to the social security office to get their socials issued I was told that those A#'s were assigned to somebody else. I did a info pass and the lady kept the green cards and told me that will send an e-mail to California about this case. She found the real A# but the case is pennding. She called me last week and told me that California asked to mail the green cards back and they will recreated the cases again.

Now I'm worry of what is going to happend, since I don't have a case# to follow up. have you guys heard about something like this before?

I guess you are talking about your I-485...

My wife and I just sent in our AOS packet. We spent lots of time going over it and over it again and again and again. The last time through we found a simple mistake on the I-485 and so reopened the PDF file and had to retype it up again. We rechecked this form again and then put everything together and put it in the mail.

When we were putting together the complete photocopy of the packet my wife noticed that we scewed up her A#!!! She didn't say anything to me until we got the NOA1.

I immediately called the USCIS 800# and had the woman fix the mistake. I got her operator number and a confirmation number at the end of the call and she said that because we called in so early in the process that it everything will be fine. We'll see.

BTW, on the NOA's for the I-765 and the I-131 the A# had an A then 0(zero) then the number (ie A0XXXXXXXX) and although I figured this was just how it got entered into the system at the USCIS the operator informed me that these too were incorrect and so corrected those as well....
