Hi guys,

I had my interview today. I arrived at the London embassy at 7:45 for an 8am interview. Inside, I was first called to a window and the guy there had my file with the USCIS and NVC stuff. He asked me when I planned to travel and took figerprints of both hands. Then he tolded me to wait. After 20 min I was called for the interview they took fingerprints again of the right hand and took the oath. Then the lady asked me when I got married and when I first met my wife? She said that everything was in order and I was approved but she told me that as u know shahid khan is very common name and we require your name check . I asked her how long it was going to take because my UK visa is expiring on Nov 30. She said it can take up to 3 months. They will send CASE back to DOS washington for further check. She said that she will put in a note to complete this processing in a hurry since my visa is expiring and as soon as I get cleared from washington they will call me to send my passport through courier service so they can grant me the visa. Has anyone else had administrative processing experience in UK? How long does it take??

Hopefully she is right and it will only take three months. It can take longer, if there are any hits. It is one of those things where you can never tell.

Be prepared to get assistance from your wife's Senator if it begins to take longer. Will they send you the visa in Pakistan since your visa is expiring??

My hubby is applying in Canada, but is from Pakistan. We're in AP (all cases apparently go to the DOS in Washington) It's been four months now and we've gotten nothing back. His isn't a name check, it's a divorce certificate.

Since she is letting them know you need it fast, maybe they can run it themselves??

My husband is Iranian and has to be processed outside Iran, in Abu Dhabi.

My husband also is in the same experience. His interview went well and they said he "passed the interview." But our paperwork required joint sponsorship. Then they took his fingerprints and gave following instructions:

1) Fingerprints could take a month to process.

2) To gather documents needed for Joint Sponsor Affidavit of Support.

3) Watch website to see case # of visa applications that have finished the fingerprint processing.

4) Once case # is put on webpage, come back to Embassy with Joint Sponsor Affidavit of Support and passport.
