here goes when you send money to another country its a good idea to know what your moneys value is worth lets take Morocco. avrage person makes $4,300.00 per year.

thats 359.00 per month. so if you were to send 500.00 to your SO for example every month

he would have 859.00 in his pocket monthly. that is $10,308 per year.

that would make his life style compariable to that of the President of his own country.

the man is living BETTER than YOU. how you like those apples?

She already stated that she is sending it to help pay for immigration costs which are charged in USD. If he only makes $359 / month that wont go far in the immigration process. He does need to pay for his bills in his country and buy food, etc.

In general we use paypal when we transfer money back and forth.. they do not seem to charge very much at alll compared to what you have been charged, though we have started looking into direct bank transfers.

check with your bank to see if there has been any problems with sending money to that country. when i sent money to brazil the banks there sat on the money for weeks, so we use western union. according to my bank, brazil is the second worst country to do a bank transfer to, with india being the worst.

with all the phish scams out with paypal, i'm very reluctant to use that. good luck

in islam the man is suppose to take care of his wifes $$$$$$ needs. thats why he offers a dowry!

not the other way around! you dont be paying him money.

it is an expectaton he takes care of my needs sayes so on the marriage contract.

So is that why you're Muslim? And is that why you're married to your husband? Honestly, the expectation that a man support a woman should have died in the Victorian era when women had no possibility of working. In my opinion any able-bodied woman who can work a decent job is just a lazy bum if she expects a man to support her.

Marriage requires both parties giving at least 100% of their ability to it. Right now it looks like Icespots is the one with the ability to give money, as it has been for many of us on here at times.

Why aren't you answering her question? Are you just here to badger her as you did in the Middle Eastern forum in another thread?

I do pity your husband. If he was reading these threads I'm not sure if he'd want to be married to such an opinionated woman who can never just shut up and say, "Ok, maybe I don't know everything."

Do they have ATMs in his town or in one that is accessable? I used my debit/ATM card in Egypt to withdraw money from my american account.

You could set up another account at the bank in his name, or in both your names, or heck, even just in your name. Send him the debit/ATM card and the pin number and he should be able to withdraw money (but don't send them in the same letter, because someone might steal it in the mail). Check to see what kind of fee your bank will charge for an overseas withdrawl though. I have Wells Fargo and they charged $5 for a withdrawl from a non wells fargo ATM machine.

Rahma that's a great idea! I used my ATM card in Morocco and my bank didn't charge me for an international withdrawal, just charged the normal exchange rate. She'd probably have to just give him a card to her account though, it requires the man's presence and US photo ID to add him to most American bank accounts.

OoooOOOh brother.....!!

Any how....this is what we did and it worked for us.

I had my bank issue me another debit card from my checking account..I sent it to him so he could withdrawal from an ATM, that easy.

If you worried about the bank account, open another one in the same bank and transfer $$ back and forth as needed. You can do it all thru online banking.

Best wishes,

PEACE to ALL,

Debra

My fiance's father sent mopney to my account...and it took about a week to show up from Brazil

from brazil, perhaps. try to brazil and it's a nightmare :crying:

basically i sent two different transfers and had to recall them after the banks there sat on the money for 2 weeks, and then they thought it was a good idea to keep $75 each transfer for their 'service"

western union is right now the choice. although i'm considering strongly a mastercard she can withdraw money out with, which has a small foreign exchange money fee (like about $3).

to save on western union fees, i send a set amount once a month, which keeps the fees charged to a minimum, plus if those who wish to use western union can ask and find out what the fees are per amount sent. you can save some money by sending $349 instead of $350 for example, as they have a price range per amount sent.

Icy fiancee is from Morocco.

As usual you have no idea what you're talking about. No, Icy's fiancee is from Algeria. Or do you forget the beating you gave her for that fact last week?

Second, not all Moroccans are Muslim. My husband is Moroccan and he isn't.

I realize right now you're a dog backed into a corner just fighting to survive, and with your 2nd grade mentality that's pretty tough since your best comeback seems to be "right back at you", but remember, you put yourself there, so deal with it.

are you trying to insult my older brother? he happend to be born deaf and mute. its not in the slightest funny.

2 out of 3 is not bad, but still not marriage material for you

I wouldn't put it past her.

In the ME forum ICY was slaming this lady< Leila > for getting a DENIAL. ICY claimed its because she is jewish. I have never ever slamed anyone forgetting a denial, I never ever added salt to any one denial wounds. any one going thought the DENIAL process. all i ever did was offer good support and advise. you all hate me fine! but know the story here! how would you feel if you got denied??? would want to know how to get out of that situation ??? you would not like some one insulting you!!! well my sweeties thats what this ICY did. it was not nice of her it was not cute!!! suppose gimmy was right KARMA. thats why I reacted to ICY the way I did!!!

so there is nothing about this I am jealous of:

1. I have a beaming career.

2. I also attend university.

3. I am not racist of JEWISH people like this one is.

so call me what you want. hey I said my peace!

Again, you can't read. Icy did not blast Leila. She was only speculating as to why the CO would deny her, which we all did. Icy is not racist against Jewish people, but of course you're too illiterate to understand typed English so I can understand your confusion.

You are the one that is racist. You called us all KKK when we told you to shut up.

If you attend university, please take an English class.
