How long does it take after submitting RFE to be approved??

Hi all:

At my wife's I-485 adjustment interview, interviewer said her medical examination was incomplete overseas when she came with a K-3 visa. So she will have to submit another medical examination and after that they will approve her I-485. We have submitted On September 13, 2007 and still waiting for the I-485 approval letter. It has been almost 2 months now. Does anybody please know how long it will take for them to approve it??

We submitted I-485 in June 2006 in MSC. Then they asked for more evidence of my income. We submitted that in September 2006. Then interview was in August 2007 and they asked us to submit medical again because my wife was pregnant at the time she got her K3 visa and some vaccination was not done. They said we do not have to come for interview again, just need to submit medical examination again. We submitted new new medical again in September 13, 2007 and still waiting for approval letter.

If anybody has any experience like this, please share. Thanks a lot.

I have another question though. Why did not they asked for it when they asked for more evidence about my income in September of 2006?? That way we would not need to go through this at the interview and after the interview and our application would have been already approved at the interview. Thanks a lot for your input.
