I was sunbathing in our frontyard wearing a full bikini (yes both top and bottoms covering both top and bottom) and my hubby told me that probably wasn't okay around these parts?!?! #######, it's my frontyard, I was lying on a blanket reading a book, how could that possibly be considered indecent? This is a quiet residential street, not a huge main road or anything, only 3 houses on our block. In the UK I would sunbathe topless in the backgarden of our 3 storey terraced house and it was never a problem.

It does seem more conservative here, but this is Iowa, I thought it would be fine in Cali?

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Took a look and I didn't see anything too crazy there. After thinking about it, I think it would be different in different parts of the country though. Around here for example, you don't see a ton of thong bikinis but I imagine in California or Florida it would be different.

I've never worn a bikini before. I'm pretty self-conscious. I tend to avoid any situation that calls for a bathing suit - I just show up at the pool or the beach in my jeans and t-shirt and make up some excuse as to why I'm not clad in a bathing suit. (No swimming, of course. :P) Many of my closest friends have never even see me in shorts or a skirt.

I read your post and thought you sounded desi. Then I looked at your name, LOL. My younger sister says the exact same thing :)

Haha - that's funny. :P I didn't know that was a "Desi"-ism! Many women of Indian descent tend to be pretty conservative - not the case with me, though, I'm just self-conscious.

Ya I was referring to the self-conscious part. Conservative is passe, even in India!
