British Muslim woman convicted of penning poems about beheadings

How is the hate I see here, in this thread appropriate? This woman is wrong in her beliefs. How dangerous she is to other people? We don't really know but it is possible that she is a danger only to herself. Yet, there are people here who seek 'appropriate' revenge in her beheading preceded by religious degradation. I don't get you people, that is for sure.

Since her beliefs are wrong, then what is wrong with degrading them?

I see the dichotomy between a true religious believer/follower and her.

Exactly what purpose is served by using stock anti moslem rhetoric against a woman who is following her own warped agenda?

It is uncomfortable to think there are people at large who hold extremely disturbed beliefs of course, but to somehow believe justice is served by indulging in the same barbaric practices as if that somehow in doing so one can restore the natural balance is to my mind also disturbing.

A beheading is a barbaric execution, which is why anyone reveling in its use is warped.

As you know, for a Moslem pigs are unclean, this is moslem symbolism and personally, I think using it to degrade this woman is distasteful to say the least.

Why are you vindicating this woman based on a religion she should be renounced of? You can spin it all you want to label my statements as sacrilegious, but in my opinion, such statements should be directed to her.

But, since I doubt you will agree with me on this, we can just settle that she is warped, and leave it at that.

3. Suggesting that she be beheaded and smeared in pig's blood first really doesn't seem to make sense. I don't understand why it's okay to use such rhetoric to condemn someone who uses offensive words/actions/etc. It seems rather hypocritical to me.

4. I can't see that this woman is a "true" believer of Islam since the Muslims I know are incredibly peace loving and opposed to such behavior. Therefore the kinds of comments being made serve no purpose other than to perhaps offend Muslims here on VJ who clearly DON'T believe the way the extremists believe.

Well noone said tarred and feathered either - but I added that one for $hits and giggles, doesn't make much difference IMO. I freely admit that I wasn't quoting anyone - which frankly was rather obvious given the lack of quote tags.

i think the important thing here is she's been put under the spotlight and any chance she had of ever realizing her "dream" is shot to chit as no one will see any reason to associate with her, as she'll be watched for quite a while now.
