I know we all get conflicting and/or contradictory information when we call USCIS to get status updates, but here was my call to CSC this morning:

I explained that my NOA-1 has a January 24, 2008 receipt date on it and the NOA-1 date is February 13, 2008. I explained that I originally submitted my application to CSC in October 2007 and it was prior to them changing their procedures instructing I-130s to be mailed to the Chicago Lockbox. I asked when would my file be processed, does it go by when the petition was submitted (October 2007) or the receipt date (January 2008)? He said, usually, the receipt date should be the date it was received in the mail room (so, it should of been October 2007) and they process petitions by the receipt date, as listed on the NOA-1. I stated my case: my petition was submitted in October 2007 and should be processed by that date and the date on the NOA-1 was incorrect. All he said is he would pull the file and determine if it was it's turn to be adjudicated.

I'm not going to hold my breath that this call will accomplish anything, but it is a last ditch effort to get things moving before I write my senator and ask for an inquiry.

Hello, everyone! I have been reading your posts for some time now... I am sharing your situation: applied for I-130 in October ( my "lawyer" did), received NOA 1 in January. I am desperate since I am not only without my husband, but also without my two boys(16 and 2 y.o.), since without my husband I can't really work and take care of them in Amerika. So, I miss everyone so much!.....

Anyway, not too many people dealing with the Rep. of Georgia. But I want to thank you all for all the help and support I got from you, and very usefull information as well.

Why I decided to post --- I spoke to an oficcer last Tuesday, complained ( in a nice way) that it's been 6 months and etc.. she pulled my case out , and said that my case is being reviewed by another officer. And I should expect the answer withing 10 days! I was so happy that day! So I am hoping , that when the automated system says now: more evidence /papers required( it happened with me as well on Tuesday), it means - they are working on the case. Just felt like cheering you up a bit, because I know what it feels like...

woww thanks for posting this.. thank you sso much.. see SHREDIE u have somethin to look forward to!! anyways i hope u get ur approval soon.. welcome to this thread!

I hope thats what it means!

but i have also heard that its an automated response and that since you prompted that number about "we requested more info" then it just automacitally says that..but hyde..you didnt get that did you?

weird. who even knows

nope i dint get that.. i just pushed prompts that led me to somethin abt if u received a letter from uscis requiring additional doc please pre.. then entered my recpeit number. and then someone pikum up sayin good mornin vermont service center..

mine said nothin abt rfe?

I just want to know something soon.

I am tired of trying to figure this out. the stress is affecting our marriage since we have enough stresses with it anyway.

I am probably going to try again after work to day adn see if I can actually get thru to VSC

Good luck shrew ........I called them yesterday ...They told me same old " 6" months ####### and " BACKLOG"....nothing changed...If you keep calling after your 6 months time line they tell you "Give us a month more from the date you called lol"

It looks like they donot know other numbers first " 6 " then " 1 " more ....they need to go to Kindergarten to learn other better numbers lol :rofl: it looks like i am getting ISD lol (Immigration Stress Disorder " ):angry::crying::wacko:

I know. wonder if the USCIS pays for counseling after this! haha

did you talk to someone from VSC or just a USCIS rep?

I feel just sad. I am certain that the rep I spoke with yesterday was just humoring me. The last time I contacted CSC using the RFE trick, it resulted in an immediate touch on my file. Since my call yesterday, there was not another touch. I think the guy was just making stuff up and trying to get out of the office on a Friday.

well, we already know that noone tells you the same thing and even what they DO tell you doesnt make truth...

but. I thought about this. they have to know we filed in october.

1) it happens to EVERYONE that filed in october...so what..noone filed an I-130 in oct???

2) the october date is on our NOA1..so they have to have a RECORD that we filed in october..even if it isnt our receipt date...???

I think they know we are all october and should be honored..but I think our files got put under the people that didnt have to send to the lockbox??????????

I am confused by your statements. I do not have an October date on my NOA-1, anywhere. I have January 24, 2008 listed as my receipt date and the date the NOA-1 was issued was February 13, 2008. There is no record that I filed in October, other than my USPS confirmation which states that CSC received my petition on October 29. I think my petition is sitting in with the January 2008 filers collecting dust.

I think my petition is sitting in with the January 2008 filers collecting dust.

oh. well mine..and I know hyde.. our NOA1 state that they were received in October...strange

I sent my I-130 to the CSC on October 5th and nothing yet. It is sad that they increase the price and decrease the service. You would think that someone would have anticipated more petitions before the fee increase. Well I guess someone is a whole lot richer.
