Paranoia about Traveling- a Recycled Topic!

Hey all,

I realized this topic has been rehashed over and over again, but I'm a paranoid individual looking for some advice.

My husband and I are planning to go to Ireland for the holidays to visit his family. His greencard expires on March 2, 2008, so we will be filing to lift the conditions in early December. We're leaving two days before Christmas, so I don't anticipate that we'll have our first NOA at that time. My question is, just to be on the safe side, should we make an InfoPass appt. and get his passport stamped, just in case? Or should we be just fine, since his greencard is still valid for another 2 months?

I realize I'm paranoid, but we've had issues with Customs in the past, including a turn around before we even started our whole Immigration process (it actually catapulted us into this whole thing!), and so I don't want to take any chances. At the same time, I would rather they not take his greencard away and stamp his passport instead.

Advice is appreciated, and I apologize for the repeat of the topic.

As long as you return before the greencard expires, you will not need a passport stamp or NOA1 to enter the USA again. Passport and unexpired greencard is all you need (actually the greencard is all the immigration wants to see upon return).

We will be returning at the end of December, well before his greencard expires.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it. As I said, I'm paranoid. But hell, he travled last March (a year before his card expires) and they questioned him about it when he came through Customs.

Ridiculous.
