That situation does suck for the taxpayers, but it hardly seems his fault that OT has to be paid to deputies to transport prisoners to court because they don't have enough of them to pay straight time.

WHY ARPAIO'S GOTTA' GO

So… why are you reading this? Are you concerned because despite his official policy Sheriff Arpaio refuses to give pregnant prisoners the essential vitamins and prenatal care? Maybe you’re more afraid of having one of the sheriff’s citizen volunteers peering into your backyard pool than you are of West Nile Virus? Or perhaps you’re wondering whether or not parading 700 prisoners down the street wearing nothing but pink shorts and flip-flops really deters crime? These are all good reasons to be concerned, but why does Joe have to go? Why has Senator McCain politically disassociated himself with him? Why have the vast majority of policeman’s associations given him a vote of no confidence?

You’re about to find out.

That page definitely sheds a new light on things.

If you go to the "Other Candidates" page there's only one guy though. Makes you wonder...

Thanks for all the support guys..

As for the Native American... heck yeah.. got to stick up... especially when some clown comes in and says.. you need to run back to some country where you immigrated from.. what a joke..

anyhow... my status.. Great Grandmother via Mothers fathers side.. was Sioux.. unfortunately with the time period.. early 1900's .. records etc... .. not too much documentation on the tribe. other than Sioux... ... she Died during birth of my Grandfather... big cover up... I'm sure many of you understand the cover up situations during the early 1900's and legalities of marrying a Indian... .. actually here in Pacific NW it was illegal.. even up to mid century... go figure..

anyhow...

As far as Sheriff Joe... I actually watched a documentary on the training that the inmates did with the dogs... it was Incredible... not only did the animals benefit.. trained.. calm.. etc.. got the attention that was very needed.. but.. the Inmates involved with the training.. learned to train.. got the emotional attachment that any animal gives... gave the inmates a sense of satisfaction other than criminal activities.... what a gift...

Yes.. Joe is extreme.. yes his financial standing is questionable... but.. step out of the box.. and look at the whole picture...

He took something that is not functioning.. and gave it a twist.. showed us. that . hey.. there are options... .. use the things at hand.. why spend when you don't need.. such as .. housing and care of animals.. .. it is a win win situation...

Also.. I totally agree.... why should any criminal.. be given better living than what they have outside... Why should they be granted privileges.. such as fancy clothes.. soft cushiony beds...

they are given food.. nourishment.. roof to protect from the elements.. etc..

JUST BE GLAD THEY ARE NOT being IMPRISONED in many other places around the world... which can infact be much worse...

Goooo Joe!!!

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt
