Nose Bleed

I am pretty sure it's the dry air also. The humidifier that I bought him isn't doing the trick though. I made him an appointment at his doctors for monday. They may want to cauterize the offending blood vessels to put an end to the problem.

Hopefully he doesn't get allergies. I sneezed a hour after I had mine cauterised with that silver nitrate stuff - and it blew all the packing out.

That is what Robin doing now..been sneezing after the doctor cauterizes and put that stuff inside..he said its so itchy , his eyes gets watery and sneez!! It makes mine itch when I watch my poor baby boy! :(

I hope he will feel better soon and no more bleeding!

if I don't sleep with a humidifier on I get a nose bleed almost every single morning. I make sure I turn it on about an hour before bed and leave my bedroom door shut. also try boiling water in the kitchen to put some moisture into the air in the house. good luck at the dr appt!

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

Sorry to hear - same thing happened to me. Sometimes it quietens down (and I haven't had a bleed for a few weeks) but I've sort of learned to live with it. I should probably go back to the docs.

May I ask..did you put/spray/apply something to help you stop to bleed aside putting some nitrate to yours? thanks!

No – but I’m pretty sure that it was a nasal spray that gave me the problem to begin with. I get pretty bad hayfever during the summer, and about 10 years ago I tried a nasal spray rather than the oral medication I was used to. After a couple of weeks of using the inside of my nostrils started to get dry and its never been the same since – though I only get the bleeds on one side. Its always dry in there too

I think you can get sprays that are basically spray-lotion, those are probably ok - though I’ve not used them – but it’s the ones for allergies (which contain steroids) that are probably not so good to use.

Doctor in the UK gave me some cream to put in there to stop the nostril from drying out before I came out – I forget what it was called, but I don’t think it did much more than say Vaseline. Really just about keeping it moist - rather than actually fixing the problem.
