I had a successful medical (according to the doctor), but there was one question on the medical questionnaire to which I had to answer "Yes".

The question was - did you ever have a surgery or have been admitted to a hospital?

I had one surgery when I was a child (more than 20 years ago) and no records are left.

I also had a miscarriage (there are two pages of records).

On that form I filled during the medical, there was a note, stating that I should be ready to provide documentation pertaining to any questions to which I answered "Yes".

Please :help:

Considering that one surgery was more than 20 years ago (and I am obviously doing fine) and the other had nothing to do with my ability to work and is no danger to my health... is it likely that I will not be asked for these papers?

or

do I need to obtain these records, translate them (certified and notarized) and bring to the interview?

That would come at a hefty price :(

So people are looking, but no responses yet?

Pleease?

I looked at your question so now I feel like I should reply lol

But I'm sorry I don't have much advice to offer. I'm sure this is terribly common, I am also sure I saw the same question some time ago but I don't remember what the response was.

I personally wouldn't worry about it, but if you are going to worry then you should go ahead and get whatever documentation you can.

You mention there are two pages of records on your 2nd hospital stay, I would not think they would want the whole 2 pages translated. Perhaps you could get a brief outline from the hospital or care provider involved and have that translated instead? Just a thought.

If you are worried and I think you still have time, then maybe you can get a Medical Certificate from the Hospital where you had your miscarriage. And regarding the Hospitalization you had 20 years ago, if you know where the hospital is, maybe also ask for a Mecidal Certificate or if there is none in their record, then maybe they can make a note that the records cannot be found (?). Or if you still remember who your Doctor was, maybe you can ask a Medical Certification from him indicating your Diagnosis and Treatments that were given. This are just in case they will ask you to provide more info (Medical certifications)... Good Luck!

Hi Trailmix,

thank you for bumping up my thread ;)

I was hoping someone who had interview already would give me some input. So far no luck  I thought it would be very common for people going through immigration to have been admitted to a hospital at least once in their life???

I worry, but getting these documents involves rather difficult logistics (I am in France, hospitals are in Russia, and records are private). Translations... DHL to France... it will cost me over $400 to get these documents here, a day off work and a day off work for whoever of my relatives agrees to help me.

I worry, but I guess I do not worry enough to spend $400 until I am asked to do so.
