Hi All,

We feel our K-1 Visa process is a little delayed/slow. We are entering the 5th month and still no change to status at the USCIS, the Vermonth Office. I've tried calling the Customer Service telephone#, but it's an automated response. Also, I already contacted my local Congressman's office and they are trying to assist (they said they've gotten no replies back, but will keep trying). What else is recommended that we try?

Also, if we risk my fiance flying to america to visit (short term) during the K-1 visa in-process, but an agent at the POE denies her, who pays for the flight back to her homeland (Japan)?

Thanks again for the replies. We are new to this, and this website is great. We truly appreciate everyone's insights and opinions.

It seems you have done what you can on your end to get your petition moving. The USCIS info line isnt very helpful, they pretty much just read off what you already know. Good luck and I hope you hear something soon.

Regarding your fiance flying over here, she would have to pay the return ticket if she was denied at POE. Most people dont have a lot of problems visiting with the K1 processing as long as they bring lots of evidence they plan on returning (not just a return ticket), dont pack a lot luggage, dont seem sketchy at immigration etc. My husband came over when our K1 was processing and he had fewer questions than when he said he was visiting his gf!

Unfortunately, right now both VSC & CSC have long 5-6 month processing times. If you got your NOA1 5 months ago, you'll probably hear something very soon. It's hard for us to tell because you didn't fill in a timeline. And, as msu17 stated, she would have to pay for her return flight if denied entry. As I stated in the other forum you started, you have to decide if you want to take the chance or wait a couple of months. Every POE & officer are different. Good luck

If she's coming for a short term visit, she'll have a round trip ticket, so she'll only be paying any itinerary change fees that apply.
